Dennis Rainey: A picture is worth a thousand words. But could it be that words of praise are worth a thousand pictures?

Guest: BL: Here's a husband with words of praise for his wife.

Clip: She's always coming up with creative meals that are very delicious. She's just an excellent cook, and I like to let her know that.

Dennis Rainey: Praise does wonders for our sense of hearing and our sight. You see, when you praise another person, you take your eyes off of yourself and focus on them for a few moments. This positive focus on someone else not only helps to put his life in perspective, but yours as well.

It should be obvious that giving praise in marriage will enhance your relationship. Praising your spouse for what he or she does for the family, not only shows his value and gives him honor, but it also encourages him to do even more for the family.

One final thought. What do you really appreciate about your mate that you haven't said "thank you" for in a while? Which good qualities, deeds, or attitudes can you think of? Why not share them with your spouse tonight before going to sleep?

I'm Dennis Rainey, and that's Real Family Life.
